PAYE Online for Employers
CalcPay can use the internet to comunicate with the government.
If you have fewer than 50 employees then you can obtain up to £825 tax free by filing online.
More to the point you can get fined very large amounts, £3000.00+ if you fail to use the Online methods when you should.
CalcPay uses various functions inside Microsoft Internet Exployer thus you require to have it installed on your computer, version 5.5 or later. ( Open Internet Exployer, click on help, click on About Internet Explorer, you can read the version number under the logo. Cipher Strengh also needs to be 128-bit so you can connect securly with the Government.)
Register
You are required to register with the government for each company that you will be sending electronic froms for , they will allocate you a User ID .

You Require
You are then required to go to HMRC Login
Under New User Click on Register.
Under Organisation, tick PAYE Online for Employers then Click Register .
Enter Name, Organisation,email & password *2
Enter PAYE & Accounts references (IN UPPER CASE).
You will be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions.
You will the receive Confirmation and Your User ID is:XXXXXXXXXXXX will be displayed, make a note of it.
You will be informed that a Activation PIN (Personal Identity Number) will be sent to you with 7 days & that it must be used within 28 days.
You will then be taken to the PAYE Activation, as you will at this point NOT have your PIN, you will NOT be able to enter it.
You can now Logout
You will be sent an email to thank you for enrolling for the PAYE Online for Employers service through the Government Gateway.
When you do receive the Activation PIN go to HMRC Login enter your User ID & password, you will then be taken to the correct page in order to activate it.

Enter the User ID and Password into the Company Details section of CalcPay.
You are now able to use CalcPay to send (& receive, comming soon) forms via the Government Gateway.
Secure Mail Box
Now that you have joined you will receive information via your Mail Box.
You get there by login on to the 'Gateway Service' at https://secure.gateway.gov.uk/default.asp
After Login you can go to your mail box & read your mail.
One of the Terms & Conditions is:
'- Delivery of messages to your secure mailbox will be regarded as delivery to you'
So you will have to read your mailbox regularly, however you can:
'- You can set your mailbox to send you a 'you've got mail' message to an email address of your choice'
As far as I can see this is set up by default to your initial email address.
