Earlier Year Update no FPS

This allows you to send in amendments to the information (FPS's) that you have previously sent to HMRC.

It should be noted that you are sending in either an INCREASE or DECREASE in the figures, not Totals to Date.

After the 19th of April you are no longer able to send in FPSs for that year, to be able to send in any adjustments you need to use the EYU.
The EYU will send any INCREASE or DECREASE ie change between what has previously sent in and what needs to be sent in.
During the year the FPSs sent in are the TOTALS TO DATE figures.
The EYU sends in the CHANGES in the figures.
Thus if an employee had their pay figures increased by 100.00 then the information to be sent to HMRC would probably require: Taxable Pay:                                100.00
Tax:                                                 20.00
NIC Letter:                                           A
Earnings:                                      100.00
LEL:                                                  0.00
PT:                                                    0.00
UEL:                                              100.00
EmployeEs NIC Contributions:   12.00
EmployeRs NIC Contributions:   13.80.
These would be put in the 'Data to be SENT' columns.
If the adjustment was a negative then the figures entered in 'Data to be SENT' columns should also be entered with a minus '-'.

To send in a particular employee click on 'Include this Employee' box in the 'Personal' tab, then enter the required figures in the 'Data to be SENT' columns.

Include Everybody
This automatically clicks 'Include this Employee' for everyone.
Prior to Pay17 this also auto populated the 'Data to be SENT' columns with the Totals To Date figures.

Show XML Details
You need to check these figures.
Does it include just the employees you want?
Are the figures entered correctly.
If there is a reduction in the pay then the figures should be a MINUS.

Prepare XML
CalcPay will prepare the figures into the XML format that HMRC expects.

Send to HMRC
This will send the submission to HMRC via the Government Gateway.
