Import from Sage

This is a facility to take the import information from Sage Payroll into CalcPay

This conversion has not been extensivly tested. Please consider it as beta.

You can bring across two types of information, Employees Details & P11 Totals.

First you need to copy 2 files from the main calcpay directory to the sage payroll directory.
'sage2calcpay.srt' & 'sage_p11_2_calcpay.srt'
In the Sage payroll directory they need to be placed in the 'Userdef' folder. The folder probablly will look like this
C:\Program Files\Sage Payroll\Reports\Userdef.

Now run Sage Payroll
a) Select all your employees.
b) In the Tasks/reports menu go to the User Defined
You will now be able to see the two reports as 'Sage Employees to CalcPay Conversion' & 'Sage_P11_to_CalcPay'
c)Preview the first one, 'Sage Employees to CalcPay Conversion'
d)On the bottom bar click 'Save As'
e)On the resulting Save As  click the 'Save as type' & change to 'Comma Separated Files (*.csv)' type
f)Enter a suitable name such as 'mycompnames' & click save.
If you wish to bring over the P11 totals then you should proceed with g)
g) Repeat 'c) to f)' for 'Sage_P11_to_CalcPay' the  & save as  'mycompp11' or similar. I suggest you do this as at the end of a month.

You can now close down Sage Payroll.

From CalcPay you can now import the two files into the data.

Add Names form csv
This brings over all the names & address of the Sage employee's.
The file will probably be here 'C:\Program Files\Sage Payroll\Reports\mycompnames.csv'
If there is a problem with any of the conversion a warning will be displayed & the problems will be saved in a file 'importerror.txt'. You can override any of the warnings & fix the problem in the employee section of CalcPay.
Currently this saves all the employees as if they are weekly paid. If some of the employees are not weekly paid then you will have to change this in the Employees details section.
Do NOT change the order of the employees until you have imported the P11 Totals. ( we use this figure as a referance number).

P11 import is no longer available.
